Madrid–Barajas Airport”. It is the leading international airport that
serves Madrid, the capital city, in Spain. Madrid airport handled more
than 39,000,000 passengers in 2013 and was ranked as 6th busiest and
largest airport of Spain. This way the airport has become an important
aviation hub in Europe too. Not far off, it is around 9 km from city
financial district while it is around 15 KM from the city center that is
why it is almost within the city limits. Barajas, the name comes from
an adjacent district that has its metro rail station that connects to
the airport.
